The MRIKPA Small Grants process for members
We accept applications from current Manchester Royal Infirmary Patients who are active members of the MRI Kidney Patients’ Association, seeking small values of grant awards to assist them and their immediate family or carers in covering some of the unexpected expenses that can be incurred when living with a new CKD Diagnosis.
We limit these grant awards to a maximum of £2000 to any one applicant in any one year.
Applicants must fill in an MRIKPA Small Grant Application form and supply any requested paper evidence of their treatment at MRI and other checks to ensure the application is secure, valid and within the parameters of the Grant Award requirements.
Applications are discussed by the MRIKPA Small Grant Trustees usually within a period of 1 month from application. Any decision on granting an award of any value is confidential with the Trustees decision being final.
Awards of small grants in previous year’s have included part-payment towards a weekend UK break for a family of three; covering taxi expenses for an elderly patient undergoing Dialysis at MRI, Partially covering the public transport costs of a young man attending clinincs at MRI, contributing towards an in-home cleaner for a CKD patient living alone and other small grants to enable learning or participation in community events organised by the MRIKPA or National Kidney Patient organisations.
