Association Policies

Reserves Policy

The MRIKPA has no fixed source of income. It relies solely upon voluntary contributions. Income from year to year can vary considerably, consequently the total amounts fluctuate.

The objects of the association are to promote, throughout the North West Region of England, the welfare of persons receiving treatment for disease or illness affecting the kidney, and, to provide advice and support to them, their relatives and others concerned with their welfare.

It is expected that the incidence rate of patients suffering from end stage renal failure will increase significantly in the next few years.  The planned activity of the MRIKPA is set to increase with this. It is imperative therefore that the MRIKPA holds funding in reserve to enable it to continue its expected increase in activities and sustain initiatives in the event of income from current sources being reduced or withdrawn.

We believe that we should hold up to 4 years expenditure in reserveto continue the full operation of the MRIKPA’s activities for 1 year, which would include the newsletter and any grant making opportunities.

Any funds more than 4 year’s estimated expenditure will be spent as soon as is possible though not necessarily at once or on one particular activity or project. Various spending plans will be considered over a reasonable period of time.

Any spending plans will be in line with the constitution.

The MRIKPA will review this policy annually.
